The Sides Have It
Everyone will be looking to save money this Thanksgiving; Melissa’s Organic holiday produce items are a great choice to keep your budget in line and everyone satisfied with their holiday favorites.
While protein is often the center attraction and nice beverages, cheeses and snacks are nice compliments; it’s the produce sides that really shine on this holiday. Sides are delicious, well-received and often the most economical option. So why not make it a side-centric day to remember?

Organic Sweet Potatoes are often candied or baked, which are both great ways to enjoy them, and this recipe for Gingered Sweet Potatoes might become a new favorite.
The first thing that comes to mind for me with Organic Green Beans is the old standby of Green Bean Casserole. That said, these Holiday Green Beans could give it a run for its money.
I love roasted Organic Brussels Sprouts with bacon but have recently taken a liking to this Brussels Sprouts Caesar Salad recipe which makes for a hearty yet lighter take on this side.
Mashed, baked, or scalloped potatoes are always a hit. As a matter of fact, it's not uncommon for me to start with a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy on my plate before I move on to the rest of the feast. This year though, I’m going to double my vegetable pleasure with this Brown Butter Mashed Parsnip Potato dish.
Organic cranberries, onions, shallots, Satsuma tangerines, apples, pears, and winter squash are always a great value this time of year, and I’m sure they will find a way into your menu.
The recipe I'm looking forward to the most this year is my daughter's zesty Cheddar-Garlic Biscuits. These are so easy to make and so yummy to eat.
I highly recommend that you don’t start your meal with these as they are so hard to resist you may not have room for anything else.
