Not your typical red cabbage side dish as this one incorporates Asian Pears and potato. Cabbage, a crucifer, is often served with barbecued or grilled foods because they pair well with the smokiness and char of the foods.
Ingredients

1 pound cabbage (red) shredded

1 medium Asian Pear (apple pear) peeled, cored, and shredded

1 large Yukon Gold Potato

3 shallots, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon peel (Seedless Lemon)

1/4 cup lemon juice (Seedless Lemon)

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Directions
In a large non-stick skillet, cook cabbage, apple pear, potato and shallots in 1 cup water, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add remaining ingredients. Cover, cook over low heat another 10 minutes, until vegetables are tender and mixture thickens slightly. Be sure to stir often.
