Elevate your side dish game with roasted Brussels sprouts, sweet Asian pears, and caramelized shallots—tossed in fresh herbs and finished with a rich balsamic glaze.
1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil – divided use
2 Melissa’s Shallots – peeled; thinly sliced
3 cloves Melissa’s Peeled Garlic – sliced thin
1 pound Brussels Sprouts – trimmed; halved
2 Asian Pears – cored; thinly sliced
1 sprig Fresh Rosemary – stemmed
4 sprigs Fresh Thyme – stemmed
¼ cup Balsamic Vinegar Glaze
Preheat the oven to 425ºF.
In a sauté pan, melt the butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over high heat. Add the shallots and garlic and caramelize, about 4 minutes.
In a bowl, add the Brussels Sprouts, the rest of the olive oil and the pears, rosemary and thyme. Mix well and place in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and roast until roasted and tender, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, place in a bowl and drizzle with the balsamic vinegar glaze. Place in a serving platter and serve.
