Quick Crack Coconuts are pre-scored for easier opening and are best used only for their sweet, flaky meat, which is delicious eaten out of hand or as an essential ingredient in baked goods, curries, Thai food, beverages and desserts.

The water in mature Quick Crack Coconuts is not intended for drinking. Do not purchase Quick Crack Coconuts for the coconut water. Using the Melissa’s Coconut Opener, pierce the softest of the coconut’s “eyes” (brown circles on the top of the coconut) to drain the water and discard. Then use the back of a heavy knife or kitchen mallet to gently tap along the score line to crack the coconut and then pry the meat out with a dull knife or spoon.
