How to Melt Chocolate in a Microwave

Warm chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power for 15-20 second intervals, stirring after each interval.

Heat until almost melted with a few wafers still visible.

Remove from the microwave and stir until completely smooth.

How to Melt Chocolate in a Double Boiler

Fill a medium saucepan with about 1-2 inches of water. Ensure the water level is low enough that it won't touch the bottom of the top bowl when itโ€™s placed on the saucepan. Heat water to a boil.

Fill a heatproof bowl (glass or metal) with Melissaโ€™s melting chocolate wafers and place on top of the saucepan. Make sure it sits snugly without touching the simmering water.

Stir the chocolate gently as it melts to ensure even heating and to prevent burning. Avoid getting any water in the chocolate, as this can cause it to seize.
