Rich and flavorful savory mushroom gravy made with fresh mushrooms, herbs, and stock—perfect for topping turkey, mashed potatoes, or stuffing.
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 Melissa’s Shallot – minced
3 cloves Melissa’s Peeled Garlic – minced
1/8 teaspoon Kosher Salt
1/8 teaspoon Freshly Ground Pepper
1 pound Fresh Crimini Mushrooms – trimmed; sliced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
2 teaspoons Soy Sauce
¼ cup All-Purpose Flour
3 cups Chicken Stock/Broth
In a saucepan, heat the oil and melt the butter. Add the shallot and garlic and sauté for 1 minute, stirring often.
Season with the salt and pepper and add the mushrooms, Worcestershire and soy sauce. Saute, on medium heat, for 5 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in the flour and add the stock/broth.
Cook, stirring often, until thickened, about 4 minutes.
