8 large Organic Peaches, ripe
2 tablespoons Sugar
1/2 cup Merlot
Pit the peaches and slice them 1 inch thick. Place in a bowl with any juices and sprinkle with the sugar. Toss gently to mix.
Pour the wine over the peaches and toss gently to mix. Set aside, unrefrigerated, for 1 hour, gently tossing every 15 minutes or so to combine flavors.
Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
Peaches in Merlot are delicious alone or on top of angel food cake for a perfect ending to a wonderful Italian meal.
