Our red habaneros are hotter than the orange. Red habaneros range 100,000 to 300,000 SHU on the Scoville scale and are favored for their intense heat and fruity flavor.
Red habanero chile peppers contain vitamins A and C, iron, folate, magnesium, fiber, and riboflavin. The peppers also contain capsaicin, which is a chemical compound that triggers the brain to feel spice or heat and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
Use rubber gloves when handling Habaneros and avoid touching skin, face or eyes. Wash chiles thoroughly, dry, wrap in paper towels and store refrigerated for up to two weeks.
