Grown in nutrient-rich volcanic soils where the days are warm and the nights are cool, Melissa’s Peewee Dutch Yellow® Potatoes are produced under ideal conditions to create an irresistibly sweet tasting potato.
These “Peewee” Baby Dutch Yellow® Potatoes are petite round potatoes with distinct yellowish-white skin. These petite baby potatoes can be cooked in almost any way imaginable. They have a light, subtle flavor and a creamy texture.
Potatoes, if unpeeled, are a good source of potassium and vitamin C. They are naturally low in fat and sodium. Peewee Dutch Yellow® Potatoes from Melissa’s are hand-selected for excellent quality. Look for firm, well shaped and fairly smooth potatoes. Avoid potatoes that have wrinkles or any bitter green discolorations. Also avoid potatoes that show signs of sprouting, wilting, or decay.
All potatoes are best stored at room temperature between 45°F and 50°F, or in a ventilated cool, dark area. Melissa’s does not recommend refrigerating potatoes as the colder temperature converts the starches to sugar. Wash and pat dry potatoes prior to preparation. Because of their naturally thin skin, Melissa’s Pee Wee Potatoes do not require peeling.
