Although mainstream America perceives bell peppers as vegetables, they are actually fruits. But in either case, all sweet peppers are characterized by their thick flesh, bright skin color, and fairly sweet flavor. Melissa's Organic Bell Peppers offer different flavors, varying colors, and a multitude of uses.

They are organically grown in accordance with the 1990 California Organic Foods Act. Organic Bell Peppers are preferred for taste, health, and environmental reasons. Serve Melissa's Organic Bell Peppers raw in salads or with a dip, as an easy appetizer. They can also be easily cooked and incorporated into omelets, soups, stews, or pizza.

Good quality peppers should be firm, fresh looking, and brightly colored. Avoid peppers that appear shriveled, dull looking, or pitted. Keep unwashed peppers refrigerated for about one week.
