The Guajillo pepper is mostly processed into chili powder or used as the main variety in packaged dried whole peppers. Melissa’s is now offering this flavorful pepper fresh from the field! It has a moderate heat of 2-4 on a scale of 1-10, with ten being the hottest.

The pepper has a sweet-hot taste that makes it the perfect ingredient for salsas, sauces, soups and stews.

Peppers should be firm and bright with no wrinkling or soft spots. Store peppers in a breathable plastic food bag or a paper bag. This pepper will keep up to two week in a refrigerator crisper.
