Native to South America, the Aji Panca Pepper is a dark red, mild pepper with a smoky, fruity taste.
The pepper is a stable condiment in Peruvian cuisine, used mostly either steeped in stews, ground into sauces, or rubbed into meat before roasting. The pepper has a unique and distinct sweet berry flavor, very reminiscent of blueberries. The sweet heat of this pepper can spice up a salad dressing perfectly; or, when simmered, the fruit tone gives way to a rich, smoky flavor that greatly enhances chicken or pork dishes.
