Spicy Shishito Peppers with Sauce

Los Angeles, California (2023) – The Shishito pepper is a semi-sweet Japanese pepper with a finger-length shape of three to four inches, ranging in color from light to dark green as it matures. The flavor is mild with generally no heat, though occasionally one will be spicy. Togarashi is a Japanese spice blend that is made with chile peppers, sesame seeds, and other spices.

The creamy sauce adds a delicious sweet, tangy, savory, and somewhat nutty flavor to these peppers. Simply rinse peppers, dry sauté and then toss with the sauce! No need to seed this variety; sauté whole and enjoy as a finger food appetizer!
