Melissa’s Produce Shares Sustainability Milestones in 2024 Impact Report
Los Angeles, CA (January 2025) – Melissa’s Produce, the largest distributor of specialty produce in the United States, has released its 2024 Impact Report, highlighting significant strides in reducing environmental impact, strengthening communities, and delivering responsibly sourced, high-quality produce.
“Our journey to a more sustainable future is guided by our core values: service, quality, integrity, community, and education,” said Robert Schueller, Melissa’s PR Director. “This Impact Report reflects those values in action, serving as both a benchmark for our progress and a roadmap for how we continue making a meaningful difference for the people we serve and the planet we share.”
Key highlights from Melissa’s 2024 Impact Report include:
• Zero Waste Operations: Melissa’s achieved zero-waste status at its on-site operations, diverting 69% more greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2023. Over 245,000 pounds of food were composted, and 800,000 pounds were donated to fight food insecurity.
