These delicate and vibrant blossoms come attached to their fruit, showcasing the range of flavor and culinary uses of the squash plant. 

Squash blossoms are the edible flowers of squash plants, and they can be harvested from many varieties of squash. Blossoms sold without fruit attached are typically from male plants, while blooms attached to young fruit come from female plants. The blossoms of these attached varieties are celebrated for their bright, vibrant color; their mild and versatile flavor, which is at once vegetal, nutty and sweet; and their delicate, crepe-like petals. These baby zucchini are tender, earthy and equally subtly sweet. Although they can be separated, squash blossoms with baby zucchini attached are considered a seasonal delicacy, and they are stunning when left intact.
