Prized by professional chefs as a dessert pear for its super sweet flavor and smooth texture, the Warren Pear is tender, juicy, and just melts in your mouth. The variety is a medium to large, long-necked fruit with pale green to brown skin, sometimes blushed red.

Though its exact origin is not known, the Warren Pear is believed to be natural hybrid cross between a Comice and Seckel pear. The fruit was discovered by one Thomas Oscar Warren growing naturally outside a post office in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and was originally known as the Post Office pear.

Fruit ripens quickly at room temperature. Unripe fruit will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
