The Flavorcrest is a very large, round, freestone variety with firm yellow fruit that is quite flavorful. Their skin color is bright red over a bright yellow background. This has been a favorite California peach for many years, prized for its consistency and good shelf-life.
Choose fruit with no bruises or soft spots. May be ripened in a paper bag at room temperature. Peaches tend to lose flavor if stored in a refrigerator for more than three days.
