About Bremer Family Winery
Bremer Family Winery is a small, family-owned estate located on Howell Mountain in the Napa Valley AVA. It sits above the fog line at elevations that produce some of California's most concentrated and age-worthy reds.
Since 2002, the property has been run by John and Laura Bremer. The historic stone winery building, originally constructed in 1891, is built
directly into the mountain, maintaining naturally cool temperatures year-round; this rareand beautiful setting makes it one of Napa Valley's most distinctive tasting destinations.
Howell Mountain's volcanic soils have poor water retention, which forces vines to produce smaller, concentrated fruit and results in wines that are ample, well-balanced, and layered.
Bremer specializes in handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay, all made with intention, patience and minimal compromise.
Bremer Family Winery Chardonnay-2023
A medium-bodied white that is pale to soft gold in color with aromas of honeysuckle, ripe stone fruits, and tropical notes. There are additional aromas of butterscotch and vanilla, yet the wine–which is barrel fermented then aged in oak for 18 months with an additional year in the bottle before release–avoids being too oaky or buttery. The palate offers flavors of stewed peaches, pineapple, caramel, and toasted hazelnuts. Ripe with a bracing acidity. Drink now, or age for 3-5 years.
