The Sharlyn melon looks like an elongated cantaloupe with a thinner, mosaic-like exterior netting. This melon has a distinct, perfume-like fragrance and a pale green interior.
They are somewhat similar to the Crenshaw melon. Sharlyn's creamy flesh is sweet and edible and is delicious eaten by itself, or for added flavor, try it with a sprinkle of ginger, salt, or a squeeze of lemon or lime juice.
