This is a really good spicy hot marinade for plant as well as animal proteins.
Ingredients
-
1 tablespoon organic ginger root, finely chopped
-
5 cloves organic peeled garlic
-
1/2 cup organic cilantro, chopped
-
1/2 cup coconut milk (unsweetened)
-
1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce or 1 tablespoon mushroom sauce
-
2 tablespoons peanut oil, roasted
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
2 teaspoons Thai Green Curry Paste
-
2 Serrano Peppers, chopped
-
1 package organic tofu, firm
Serving Suggestion
Directions
Puree or pound all the ingredients, except the shallots, into a paste. Stir in the shallots.
To prevent cross-contamination, remove a portion of marinade to a separate container or bowl to use as sauce, before adding protein to marinate.
Recipe Note
Serving suggestion: brush sauce over drained firm tofu. Marinate tofu for at least 60 minutes. Grill or broil, and serve the unused, reserved marinade as a sauce.
