Large pumpkins work well for decorative uses. Wrap cut pieces in plastic and refrigerate for up to 5 days. Store whole pumpkins for several months in a dry area. Preparation: Cut a "lid" into the pumpkin and remove. Remove seeds and save for pumpkin seed recipe. Discard fibers. For cooking, peel pieces with a sharp knife and cut into cubes, spears, slices, or puree.
