Melissa’s Gemstone® Potatoes are a mixture of the some of the best-tasting baby potatoes around. These flavorful, thin-skinned potatoes cook quickly and evenly and can be prepared in a variety of ways, limited only by your imagination.

To preserve the nutrients in these healthy treats, leave the skins on and simply scrub gently in water before using. Melissa's Gemstone® potatoes may include a mixture of white, yellow, red, purple, and fingerling potatoes. Varieties are dependent upon seasonal availability.

Potatoes have existed since 3,000 B.C. This humble tuber grew wild in the foothills of the Andes Mountains in Peru and was cultivated for thousands of years by the legendary Incas.

Potatoes, a member of the nightshade family like tomatoes and eggplant, were once thought to be poisonous. Now potatoes are the third most important food crop in the world and a staple in most diets.

Today, hundreds of varieties are grown around the world and consumed in great quantities. From the size of a grape to the size of a grapefruit, they come in many shapes and sizes.

Potatoes are one of the most versatile vegetables in the world, available in a rainbow of colors from creamy white to yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, green, brown and black. Melissa's now offers a mixture of these great-tasting baby gemstone potatoes. The assortment may include baby white, yellow, red, purple and fingerling potatoes.

Mixture is dependent upon seasonal availability.

Roasted with a little oil, salt, and pepper in my oven for 30 minutes at 425.  Turned out fantastic.  Creamy texture and really filling.
