In a dry sauté pan place the rice and toast over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Place into a bowl and set aside.
Add the whole spices to the pan and toast until the aromas are released.
Remove from the heat and place in the bowl with the rice.
In batches, grind this mixture in a spice grinder (coffee grinder) until milled; add the ground turmeric and blend. This makes one cup, which is enough for 6-8 pounds of meat.
