The historic stone winery building, originally constructed in 1891, is built directly into the mountain, maintaining naturally cool temperatures year-round; this rare and beautiful setting makes it one of Napa Valley's most distinctive tasting destinations. Howell Mountain's volcanic soils have poor water retention, which forces vines to produce smaller, concentrated fruit and results in wines that are ample, well-balanced, and layered.
