When it's winter in the US, it's summer in Australia, and that means one thing: mango season!
Australian mangoes are some of the biggest, tastiest, and creamiest mangoes in the world. They're the perfect balance of sweet and tart, with silky smooth texture that cuts like butter. As they ripen, they develop a gorgeous orange sunset color with shades of red. They're perfect for slicing into salads, smoothies, and desserts, or enjoying on their own.
Tasty flavor pairings include, avocado, chile, cilantro, cucumber, jicama, lime, orange, passion fruit, pineapple, and star fruit.
How to cut a Mango
• Cut vertically, stem side up, ¼ inch away from the center
• Make the same cut on the other side
• Score flesh on each cheek in a grid-like pattern
• Use a large spoon to detach the flesh from the skin
• Scoop the cubes out and enjoy!
Ripe when brightly colored and slightly soft when squeezed.
Best stored in the refrigerator when ripe, up to 4 days.
