Melissa’s Red Wine Shallot Sauce combines the highest quality French ingredients to make a rich and tangy sauce that perks up any dish, especially seared red meat and roasted veggies such as carrots and broccoli, mushrooms, asparagus and potatoes.
Sometimes referred to as Bordelaise, Red Wine Shallot Sauce is considered a “Daughter Sauce” in classic French cuisine. It’s a direct descendant of Espagnole sauce, one of five Mother Sauces that create the backbone of French cooking. Red Wine Shallot Sauce is favored for its jammy-tart red wine flavor, combined with the subtle oniony sweetness of minced shallots.
Melissa’s Red Wine Shallot Sauce distills all the rich and complex flavors of a homemade sauce into a convenient one-serving pack. Serve atop warm steamed, roasted or grilled veggies and seared steak, roast beef, pork chops or game meat.
Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration is not needed.
