Green Apple Dragon Crumble

4 tbs butter, plus more for buttering the dish
2/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. flaked sea salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 lemons

4 Green Dragon apples
(or substitute 4 Granny Smith Apples)
1 tsp. sugar
2 tbs flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 2 qt. baking dish or 8” skillet and set aside.

First, make the topping. Cut the butter into small cubes.

In a bowl, stir together sugars, oats, cinnamon and salt.

Using a microplane, grate nutmeg and zest lemon directly over the oat mixture.

Add cubed butter and mix into the other ingredients until evenly distributed.

Next, core the apples and cut into ½” slices and toss with the sugar and flour.

Then, spread the apples in the dish, cover with the topping, and bake for 45-60 minutes.
