Spiced Garbanzo Beans

12 ounces Garbanzo Beans - prepared according to package directions and reserve
1/2 cup cooking liquid
2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
2 small Organic Yellow Onion chopped
2 cloves Organic Garlic minced
1 teaspoon Organic Ginger Root minced
1 teaspoon Turmeric ground
1 teaspoon Cumin ground
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Garam Masala
4 small Serrano Chiles


Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger, stirring until onions are tender but not browned.

Stir in the turmeric, cumin, coriander, lemon and garam masala. Stir in the garbanzo beans and reserved cooking liquid.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes.

Turn into a heated serving bowl. Sprinkle with cilantro and garnish with chiles.
