Old-World Fruit Crisp

Ingredients

4 cups Fruit such as Apples, Pears, and/or Berries sliced
1 1/2 tablespoon Organic Lemon (juice only)
Salt
1/2 cup Brown Sugar firmly packed
1/4 cup Butter softened
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Rolled Oats
1/2 teaspoon Canela (Cinnamon Sticks)
1 Organic Lemon zest
1/4 cup Walnuts finely chopped (optional)

Directions

Place fruit in the bottom of an 8 inch square baking pan or 8 inch pie tin. Sprinkle with lemon juice and a little salt, tossing for an even coating.

Mix the sugar and flour together. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Add oats, cinnamon, lemon zest, and nuts (if using) and work until well mixed and crumbly.

Sprinkle the topping over the fruit and bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes, depending on the firmness of the fruit. Serve hot or at room temperature.
