To use, snip off the desired amount of peppers, remove stems and seeds, and then dry toast to awaken their full flavor potential. Grind or crush into a flavorful seasoning or rehydrate for salsas, soups, and marinades.
Melissa’s ristras are 18 inches long and completely edible—they are not coated in shellac. When stored in a dry area with little humidity out of direct sunlight, ristras can last for several years. To dust, mist with water and allow to air dry.
