Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Flour Plain (2 cups)
  • 3 ounces Rice Cheese
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Mustard Powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 ounces Butter diced
  • 150 Milk extra for glazing
  • 1 Egg

Directions

Before you start to cook, preheat the oven to 230/450 F. Take the bowl and mix flour, baking powder, mustard powder and salt together. Then add butter until the mixture resebles breadcrumbs and then put two-thirds of the grated cheese.

After that add the milk and egg into the mixture. Mix quickly to a dough.

Roll out the dough lightly, or simply pat it out. Cut into the shapes of squares, triangles and rounds. Lightly brush it with milk and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Leave it for 15 minutes and then put it in the preheated oven for another 15 minutes. Serve it warm

Note: Pay attention to handle the dough lightly and bake it at a high temperature. Scones tastes excellent with smoked salmon.
