Ingredients
- 1 cup Peanut Oil
- 1 1/4 pounds Organic Tofu cut into 1 x 2 pieces
- 3 tablespoons Lemon Grass finely chopped
- 1 Red Chile finely chopped
- 2 cloves Organic Garlic chopped
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chinese 5-Spice
- Salt and Fresh Ground Black Pepper to taste
Directions
Heat the peanut oil in a deep pan. Add the tofu and fry until browned, then drain on paper towels and set aside. In a separate sauté pan or wok, sauté the lemongrass, chili, and garlic in hot vegetable oil until soft. Add the tofu and mix well. Season with the Chinese 5-Spice, salt and pepper, and serve.
Note:
For even easier preparation, fried tofu called Name Age (pronounced namay agay) is available at many major supermarkets.
This is a relatively easy dish that takes less than 15 minutes to prepare.
