Ingredients
- 1 cup Red Wine full bodied
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Brown Sugar firmly packed
- 1 stick Canela (Cinnamon Sticks)
- 1/2 pound Dried Prunes
- 1/2 pound Dried Apricots
- Lemon Peel of 1/2 lemon
Directions
In a saucepan, place the wine, water, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon peel. Bring to a boil, then simmer 5 minutes. Add the prunes and apricots, cover, and simmer 15 minutes more. Turn off the heat and let the fruit sit at least 2-3 hours in the syrup. Serve warm, alone, or over your favorite cake or frozen dessert.
