Ingredients
- 1/2 pound Melissa's Plum Bites -- diced
- 1/2 package Melissa's Organic Thompson Seedless Raisins
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tablespoon Water
- 20 sheets Melissa's Won Ton Wraps
- as needed Canola Oil -- for frying
- For the sauce:
- 4 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/2 pound Melissa's Plum Bites -- diced
- 1/2 package Melissa's Organic Thompson Seedless Raisins
- 1/2 cup Brandy
Directions
Heat oil to 350ºF.
In a bowl, mix together the first 2 ingredients. In a small bowl, slightly beat the egg with the water. Place about a teaspoon of the plum mixture in the center of each of the won ton wrappers. Brush the edges with the egg, fold in half and press to seal the edge. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
To make the sauce:
In a small pan over medium high heat, melt the butter and stir in the sugar. Next, add the rest of the sauce ingredients and stir. Carefully light (flambé) the pan contents with a match to cook the alcohol out of the brandy. Continue cooking over a low flame for 10 minutes. Carefully pour mixture into a blender and blend until smooth, using caution as mixture is hot.
To serve, place the won tons on a platter with a bowl of the dipping sauce. Makes 20 won tons.
Notes
Dusting the won tons with powdered sugar makes for a pretty presentation.
