Ingredients

  • 3 cups Organic Apples (use Granny Smith Apples) peeled and sliced (or substitute your favorite variety)
  • 1 sprinkle Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 sprinkle Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Organic Lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 3 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Ready to Use Pie Dough (enough for a 2-crust pie)

Directions

Place sliced apples in a bowl and toss with the fresh lemon juice to prevent browning. Sprinkle the apples with the brown sugar and cinnamon and place mixture in an unbaked pie shell. Dab the top with small bits of butter. Place dough for a top crust, sealing the edges by crimping the bottom and top crusts together. Cut off excess pastry from the edges.

Place the pie on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees, or until the crust turns golden brown. Remove from the oven and let stand for at least 15 minutes before serving. Accompany with vanilla ice cream or a slice of cheddar cheese.
