Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Hazelnuts chopped
- 4 teaspoons Thompson Seedless Raisins, Flame Seedless Raisins or Dried Currants
- 1/8 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon or Ground All-Spice
- 4 Baking Apples
- 4 teaspoons Butter
Directions
In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, hazelnuts, currants, and spice. Core the apples from the top, making a large enough hole in the center for filling, but not cutting the skin at the bottom. Place 1 tablespoon of butter in each apple, followed by a tablespoon of the filling. Wrap each apple tightly in aluminum foil and place, top down, directly on hot coals. After 5 minutes, using long tongs, turn apples right side up and continue to bake for 3-5 minutes longer.
