Vancouver native Loren "Lola" Dunsworth knows that man (or woman) does not live by bread alone. So when she opened her namesake restaurant Lola's in West Hollywood a couple of years ago, she relied on her successful stints at major nightspots like Vertigo, Flaming Colossus, and House of Blues to make Lola's a destination experience.

Lola's recipe for success includes one part visual experience (vaulted ceilings soaring above cheetah-patterned velveteen covered wrought iron chairs), one part conviviality (a 50+ selection martini bar), one part comfort food (favorites like macaroni & cheese and her mom's homebaked pies), one part new-edge (Courtney Love's favorite Seared Scallops in a Vodka Leek Sauce), and one part Lola herself (her restaurant and club is an extension of her home, and guests are definitely made to feel welcome).

You'll want to visit Lola's for the total experience: people to see, familiar foods to eat, pool to play, great live music to listen to. Open for dinner only, Lola's has been the site of thousands of small tete-a-tetes, and too many "private" celebrations to list. All I can say is, that in between bites of eggplant pate, artichoke heart salad, vegetarian raviolis, or homebaked cookies (which come fresh baked to order right out of the oven), you may catch a glimpse of a famous actor (Leonardo DiCaprio, Drew Barrymore), a legendary singer (Bonnie Raitt, Rod Stewart) or a supermodel (Iman), at a nearby table.

Whether you settle into one of Lola's many nooks or crannies, choose a spot in the patio area, have your experience in the dining or living rooms, or grab a stool at the 25 ft. bar, you'll feel comfortable and welcome at Lola's, and you'll be very glad you came.
