Early Years
Chef Denton brings a wealth of experience and passion for his profession. Prior to becoming Executive Chef at Restaurant LuLu in 1995, Denton spent several years perfecting his professional cooking skills at world-renowned establishments such as the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles, the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, and Red Sage in Washington, D.C. Famed restaurateurs Wolfgang Puck and Rich Melman are among many mentors that have helped shape his culinary career.
Starting at the age of 17, Denton enrolled in an American Culinary Federation apprenticeship program. He began his professional culinary journey with basic European fundamentals and old world traditions. Denton went on to study with a German master chef and later spent two years of cooking restaurants throughout Switzerland.
Current Projects
Traveling the world has given Chef Denton first hand experience with cuisines from around the globe. Chef Denton credits his experiences as the key ingredient to being a good chef, his travels greatly influenced the Provencal-style regional dishes at Restaurant Lulu. The combination of warm Mediterranean flavors and colors with fresh California produce and herbs has transformed Restaurant Lulu into a favorite spot for Bay Area residents, and a key destination restaurant for tourist from around the world.
