Early Years

Originally inspired by her mother’s great cooking skills and her father’s passion for food, self-taught chef and baking expert Dede Wilson has over twenty years of professional experience as a caterer, recipe developer, bakery owner, media spokesperson, food writer, teacher, and cookbook author. She has gone from experimenting to expert in whichever topic she chooses, from appetizers to holiday recipes, and from Japanese cuisine to the ultimate pastry creation – the wedding cake.

Current Projects

Dede Wilson now inspires thousands through her PBS series Seasonings with Dede Wilson. In addition, Wilson frequently appears on NBC’s Today Show, LIVE! With Regis and Kelly, and Barbara Walter’s The View, as well as on CNN, HGTV, Fox News, the Discovery Channel, and the TV Food Network. In addition, she is a contributing editor, spokesperson and writer for Bon Appetit magazine, and has written for Cook’s Illustrated, Fine Cooking, and Pastry Art and Design magazines.

Recognition

Her first book, The Wedding Cake Book, published in 1997, was nominated for an International Association of Culinary Professionals’ (IACP) Julia Child Cookbook Award for First Book as an Author. She followed this first successful publishing experience with:
