Early Years

Aspiring to cook and entertain like her mother, throughout her school days Debbie Meyer hosted small parties at which she experimented with entertaining ideas and recipes. The success of these gatherings established Debbie as an impressive hostess. Her lifelong love for cooking, entertaining, and most importantly, building and maintaining good friendships has transcended to a passion for sharing practical yet impressive ideas to make dining a more memorable experience. Her menus include hand-selected recipes, wine pairings, and pictures and anecdotes from many of the friends who submitted the tried and true recipes that make up the collection.

Current Projects

With additional background as a cooking instructor, menu planner, and as a food buyer for a gourmet store, and realizing that busy lives could undermine the art of entertaining at home, Debbie decided to create a guide that would put the pleasure back into entertaining. Recipes are created in stages, to balance taste, color, and texture, resulting in impressive menus that simplify the process without sacrificing the details that transform eating into dining.

Debbie Meyer's first cookbook, Good Friends Great Tastes, is subtitled A Celebration of Life, Food and Friendship. Inspired beginning at the age of 10 by her parent's elegant gatherings, and by recipes enjoyed by family and friends for over 25 years, Debbie Meyer presents everything from table decorations to simple recipes for fabulous food that makes every gathering a celebration.

Recognition

Debbie Meyer is a self-proclaimed every-day gourmet, who believes that spending time with your guests is more important than spending time in the kitchen. She's put her heart and soul into each menu, and has handed it to us on a beautiful platter.
