Cheryl Forberg

Chef, Registered Dietician, Journalist & Cookbook Author

Early Years

With a degree from UC Berkeley, and training from the California Culinary Academy, Cheryl developed a passion for healthy cooking while working as a private chef to film maker George Lucas at Lucasfilm, Ltd., in Northern California. She has also gained extensive experience as a chef/instructor at the Epicurean School of Culinary Arts, and at other culinary schools throughout the country.

Current Projects

While growing older may be inevitable, journalist, trained chef, and registered dietician Cheryl Forberg is on a mission to educate boomers everywhere about the delicious benefits of an age-defying, antioxidant rich diet. It is her belief that eating an antioxidant rich diet contributes to longevity and she eloquently backs up her theories in her book Stop The Clock! Cooking: Defy Aging--Eat The Foods You Love.

Her book contains more than 110 recipes that are rich in the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that studies suggest may help delay or even prevent many of the effects of aging. Keeping the expression “you are what you eat” in mind, Cheryl Forberg shows us how to select and prepare foods that will optimize quality of life while slowing the aging process.

Recognition

As a chef and writer, Cheryl Forberg has developed, written, and tested hundreds of original recipes for publications such as The Washington Post, and for Sunset and Health magazines. In addition to working as a research dietician for Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Cheryl has served as Health Editor for Cooking.com. She’s a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Food & Culinary Professionals Practice Group, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, the Association of Food Journalists, and the international culinary association Les Dames d’Escoffier.

Cheryl Forberg has taken her knowledge about the connection between what we eat and how we age out of the science lab and into the kitchen. She teaches us how healthful cooking, emphasizing antioxidant rich fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and spices, can be a delicious way to look better, feel better, and live better.
