Uses:
Chanterelles have a delicate, nutty and often robust flavor. Once reconstituted, the chewy texture of this wild mushroom may be enjoyed as a separate side dish, but is best suited for meats, eggs and poultry. Chanterelles may be sliced and sautéed with butter and garlic or served with pasta or veal. Melissa’s Dried Chanterelle Mushrooms (available in 12/1/2 oz. and 12/1 oz. units), will add flavor and texture to sauces, meatless main dishes and stir-fries. Once rehydrated, Melissa’s Dried Chanterelle Mushrooms can be served as a main course or appetizer.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Melissa's Dried Chanterelle Mushrooms are hand selected for excellent quality. Store in a cool, dry place. After rehydrating, trim tough stems.
Note: 1 ounce of Melissa's reconstituted dried mushrooms equals 4 ounces of Melissa’s fresh mushrooms.
To reconstitute, blanch in boiling water for 2 – 5 minutes or soak 30 minutes in lukewarm water, wine, or consommé. If desired, reserve liquid to add flavor to dishes.
