Uses:
Although all parts of this fruit are used, only the milk and meat of the Coconut are used for food. Coconut milk makes a nutritious drink and can be used in curry sauces and Thai and Chinese soups, while Coconut meat can be eaten fresh, dried and used in baking, or pressed (where it is known as copra) and used to make coconut oil. The fruit of the coconut palm, Coconuts are grown in Malaysia and parts of South America, India, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands. Coconuts from Melissa?s are grown in the Dominican Republic and because of the climate and variety, contain more meat and juice than most Coconuts harvested elsewhere.

When selecting Melissa's Coconuts, choose one that is heavy for its size and sounds full of liquid when shaken. Whole, unopened Coconuts can be stored at room temperature for up to 6 months, depending on the degree of ripeness.
