Uses:
The most prevalent coloring of the Zebra Tomato is yellow - green, however the variety also grows in mixed colors including brown, red and yellow. These beautiful golf ball sized fruits start green with dark stripes and ripen to a yellow color keeping the green stripes. The amazing sweet and tart flavor is very similar to a tomatillo. Zebra tomatoes are great in salsas and add an extra zing to salads. Product of California.
Selection, Storage & Handling:
Select tomatoes that are firm and bright in color with no bruises or overripe softness. Vines should be bright green and pliable. Store fresh tomatoes in a cool, dark place, and use within a few days. Tomatoes should not be refrigerated; it nullifies flavor and turns the interior mealy.
