    Uses

Popular in stir-fry dishes, Winter Melon is best known for its role in Winter Melon Soup where the melon is scooped out, mixed with other ingredients (including a broth), then steamed and served in the same "melon bowl."

    Selection & Storage

Winter Melons from Melissa’s are hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose melons that have evenly-textured shells, free of soft, water-soaked areas or mold. Whole melons will keep for months in a cool, dry area. If purchased cut, melon pieces should be wrapped in plastic and used as soon as possible.

    Preparation

After scooping out the flesh, leave shell whole for decorative use. Remove fibrous parts and seeds. Slice flesh into pieces and add to soups or stir-fries.
