Uses
Dried shrimp is a traditional ingredient in the cuisines of many East Asian and Southeast Asian countries. In Louisiana, dried shrimp is sometimes added to gumbo or eaten out of hand as a snack. It has mildly salty, chewy texture and a fragrant aroma of the sea. Dried shrimp is high in protein, but very low in fat. A one-ounce serving of dried shrimp contains nearly 15 grams of protein, less than a gram of fat, and zero carbohydrates.
