Uses:

This is a medium large hybrid variety, ranging from 2½ to 4½ lbs. each, with a brilliant salmon colored fruit and spotted yellow green skin. The fruit is as tasty as it looks with a very high sugar content and melon-like flavor. If stored properly, Tai Nung Papayas have an excellent shelf-life. Sometimes the variety is also called Formosa, which means beautiful in Portuguese. 

 

Selection, Storage and Handling:

Fruit that is more than 50% yellow in color will be ripe and ready to eat. Store no colder than 55°F and storing with ethylene producing fruits will speed up ripening as sensitivity is very high.
