Uses
Melissa’s Sunburst squash is as wonderful as it sounds! The eye pleasing squash is a round, small bright yellow variety with scalloped edges. You’ll also find dark green coloring on both ends of the squash. Greatly resembling the baby yellow scallopini squash, the summer Sunburst variety offers a mild, yet buttery flavor. The flavor is subtle, but exquisite, complimentary to any summer dish. Squash has been ranked the second most popular fruit, behind tomatoes, and Melissa’s Sunburst squash demonstrates why. This delicious squash will add excellent flavor sautéed, barbequed, fried and even raw with your favorite dip or in a summer salad. Selection, Storage & Handling
Choose squash that are plump and firm, heavy for their size and have a smooth, glossy and tender skin. Allow 1/4 to 1/3 pound per person. Refrigerate unwashed in a plastic bag for up to one week.
