Uses
Melissa’s Strawberries make a wonderful snack at any time of day, as well as a fabulous baking ingredient. Fresh Melissa’s Strawberries are preferred for their succulently sweet taste, and glamorous presentation. Their color and appearance add sparkle as a garnish to a fresh summer meal. These large, bright red berries are used in preparing fruit salads and special desserts. Enjoy fresh strawberries eaten out of hand, or cut, with a sprinkle of sugar to enhance their sweet, juicy flavor. Melissa’s Strawberries are a wonderful addition to summer salads, ice cream desserts, strawberry shortcake, cobbler, or a fresh fruit pie.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Stems and caps should be fresh and firm. The berry should be plump and firm with a nice red finish. Avoid green or white-topped strawberries or berries that are mushy, shriveled, or leaky.
Wash and cut off green stems.
