Uses
Widely created in Latin cuisines and popular throughout the Southwest, tacos are a common entree in many areas. Melissa's Soy Taco is a pure vegetable product, yet very similar to regular taco meat in many ways. It is a savory addition to many dishes, including tacos, taco salads, burritos, enchiladas, pasta sauce, lasagna and chili. Soy Taco provides a delicious meatless alternative with less fat and no cholesterol. Made with healthy soy beans and no sodium nitrate. This item can be frozen.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Melissa’s Soy Taco is packaged for excellent quality and should be refrigerated. To maintain freshness (after squeezing amount to cook from casing) twist tie unused portion and store in ziplock bag, return to refrigerator. Shelf life is 90 days.
Unlike taco meat, Melissa’s Soy Taco is not "raw," and can be prepared quickly over high heat. Use a non-stick skillet and spray with a non-fat spray (if desired). Remove Soy Taco from packaging, microwave or pan heat until heated through.
Water, Soy Protein Concentrate (with Caramel Color), Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Seasoning Blend ( Spices, Dehydrated Onions, Salt, Garlic Powder, Potato Flour, Cocoa, Citirc Acid, Dextrose), White Vinegar (Distilled from Corn), Textured Soy Protein, Wheat Fiber, Natural Flavors (Fractionated Vegetable Oil, Modified Food Starch, Maltodextrin, Autolyzed Yeast Extract), Xanthan Gum.
